Positano is my favorite place in the world. So when Chloe and Dimitri hired me to photograph their elopement in Positano, Italy, it was a pinch me moment!
Chloe and Dimitri reached out to me over a year ago. They knew that they wanted to go somewhere special and elope just the two of them. They also knew that they wanted me to photograph it! But they didn’t know where to go. They were torn between Italy and Hawaii, two places they had never been before.
Luckily, I’ve been to both place! Multiple times each! So I was able to help them explore both options. I shared all my knowledge and expertise on both locations. I created Pinterest vision boards for them in both locations so they could really visualize what their day would look like in each place. And I shared lots of travel logistics and advice with them.
After all this information, they decided to elope in Italy!
One deciding on Italy, they still were torn on locations. They loved the idea of both Lake Como, and the Amalfi Coast. After some more thinking, they decided they really wanted to be by the sea. So Positano, Italy was going to be their special place where they started forever!
In the months leading up to their elopement, we planned every detail together. They chose a hotel with a large private balcony overlooking the cliffs of Positano so that they could do their vow exchange there. I also created a timeline for their elopement day based on lighting and tourist crowds, ensuring that would we captured the best possible photos.
Everything came together perfectly as planned, and we had the best day ever!
Positano Italy Elopement
Chloe and Dimitri exchanged their vows and read emotional letters from their families as the sun rose over Positano. After their exchange, we explored some iconic locations along the Amalfi Coast. Their hotel, Hotel Poseidon, had an amazing vintage VW Bug convertible car that they let us use to drive along the coast. It was so special!
We took a break for the afternoon, when the sun was super hot and the tourist crowds were at their peak. Then we met back up at sunset for some more photos around Positano, including a stop for gelato. Their sunset photos on the beach in Positano turned out so incredible!
The day after the elopement, Chloe and Dimitri wanted to capture some more fun and casual photos together. So we met up at sunrise on the beach in Positano, and it was such a beautiful calm morning. They were extra adventurous and asked if they could get in the water for some photos!
It is such an incredible honor to help plan and photograph elopements for my clients. Getting to be the only person along to witness their special day is a privilege that I’ll never take for granted. And this elopement in particular, being in my favorite place in the world, was an experience I’ll never forget.
Thanks for taking me along for the adventure Chloe & Dimitri!
