Lake Michigan Beach Engagement

Kelsey and John reached out to me to capture their Lake Michigan beach engagement photos, and I’m so blessed to live this beautiful lake in my backyard! As a Michigan based wedding photographer, it’s my favorite location for engagement photoshoots in West Michigan.

Plus, it’s even better when my clients are adventurous enough to get IN the water!

Kelsey knew from the start that they wanted to get in the water for some of the photos. They love to travel and spend time at the beach, plus and they got engaged in Hawaii. So a beach engagement photo session with playful adventurous photos in the water was a perfect fit.

Engagement Photos In The Water

We strategically waited until the water was warm enough in August. We were blessed with the perfect day, a gorgeous sunset, and Lake Michigan felt like bath water.

It’s always such a fun experience to capture engagement photos in the water. While trying to keep my cameras dry and not get knocked down by waves, I’m simultaneously giving my clients prompts and movements so we can capture candid moments. Kelsey and John splashed around all night, then watched the sun go down while wrapped up in a cute Turkish towel. It was so romantic and sweet!

I’m so grateful for adventurous clients like Kelsey and John, and I cannot wait for the wedding next summer.
