Michigan holds so much charm and countless breathtaking wedding venues. Whether you’re looking for a wedding venue that is indoor or outdoor, rustic or romantic, intimate or luxurious, there’s something for every bride in the mitten state.
I’m Tylee Shay, a Michigan-based wedding photographer, and I’ve seen some of the best Michigan wedding venues out there. I’m here to help you find your dream location to tie the knot!
Shepherd’s Hollow is one of the most impressive wedding venues in Michigan. This luxury venue features an amazing garden setting for an outdoor ceremony surrounding a quaint fountain. Their reception space is in a glass conservatory with a classic black and white checkered dance floor (a highly sought after detail that is hard to find anywhere else!). Although the venue is beautiful, one of its best features is it’s impressive catering and bar services. If you’re looking to have a luxury, romantic, memorable wedding, Shepherd’s Hollow is the venue for you.
Another one of the best luxury wedding venues that Michigan has to offer can be found in Southwest Michigan. Greencrest Manor is a European estate wedding venue with French gardens, classic architecture, and endless charm. They have several spaces for you to get ready on-site, as well as multiple ceremony locations, cocktail hour backdrops, and reception options. The estate may be rented out for a one-day event, or a full weekend affair. Be sure to reach out well in advanced as this popular Michigan wedding venue books up far in advanced!
If you’re looking for a whimsical and romantic space to get married, then this is the venue for you! The Botanic Garden pairs the natural beauty of Traverse City with contemporary spaces for you and up to 300 guests. They have an open air ceremony courtyard with lots of character for you to exchange your vows. Additionally, they have two reception options including a modernized open-air pavilion and a large tent lawn. This is the perfect place to have an outdoor wedding surrounded by nature while still having the security of sheltered protection in case of bad weather!
The gorgeous Tabor Hill estate tent is a massive, white canopy made of glass-enclosed doors that can be added or removed depending on weather. In my opinion, much classier than the typical wedding tent! Additionally, this magical venue is surrounded by 50 acres of vineyards. Last but not least, you and up to 225 guests can enjoy a wine pairing dinner menu with wines harvested from grapes grown right on the property. Tabor Hill is definitely one of the best Michigan wedding venues I have ever seen!
Nature is a brand new event space where luxury meets the great outdoors. Located in Northern Michigan, this destination event venue is a true retreat available to book for a weekend or a week-long affair. Their space features a contemporary, bright and airy event building called ‘The Great Nest’ that can hold up to 172 guests indoors. Additionally, they have a grand canopy Reception Tent on the beach of their swimming pond that can hold up to 500 guests outdoors. They also offer 4 outdoor ceremony sites, a large terrace perfect for cocktail hour, and an outdoor bonfire/after-party space in the forest to dance under the stars. In addition, they have modern glamping tents, cabins, and camping options for overnight accommodations.
I believe that this venue is the perfect blank slate for any rustic, artful wedding. Journeyman is set in a historic factory known for its distressed hardwood floors, rustic character, and charming atmosphere. For instance, this space can hold anywhere from 25 to 500 guests, making it great for both intimate celebrations and wild parties. Additionally, Journeyman is a full-service venue and makes planning your perfect wedding effortless.
This venue is a renovated 1920’s mansion with a gourmet kitchen, stunning conservatory, and beautiful bridal parlors. I can attest that Venue 3Two has the most romantic wedding day atmosphere! They can hold up to 200 people, plus they offer indoor and outdoor ceremony options with receptions in their elaborate conservatory. Above all, Venue 3Two is one of the only venues that functions as a non-profit. I really adore the fact that they donate their proceeds to local organizations that are bettering the community.
I adore this luxury event space. Planterra offers a luxe, full-service wedding experience in an exotic botanical garden setting. You will have the opportunity to work with their award-winning floral design team who will play off of the timeless allure of plant life. Similarly, you also will enjoy their catering team’s specialty cuisine, wine and spirits. Finally, you can celebrate with up to 200 guests in this oasis and dance all night with the stars shining through the glass ceiling.
This wedding venue is a true hidden gem. I wish I could hangout here every weekend! The Glasshouse is a stunning, simplistic greenhouse venue with the most beautiful bridal studio. Similarly, the owners have the most kind hearts! I can promise that you’ll have a wonderful experience working with them. If you’re looking for an intimate, garden style wedding, look no further. The Glasshouse is covered in twinkle lights and designed for for more intimate weddings of up to 70 guests.
I love watching brides walk down rows of vineyards as they head towards their “I Do.” At Brengman Brothers, their ceremony space tucked within the vineyard is definitely the star of the show! However, their open air reception tent is equally as beautiful. This Northern Michigan venue has incredible panoramic views, as well as acres and acres of picturesque vineyard property. A photographers dream!
Right in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids is a rooftop greenhouse oasis perfect for both small and large wedding celebrations. I have loved this venue since the day it opened, and I’m always so excited when I get to capture a wedding day here! You can have your intimate or elaborate ceremony in the Greenhouse, and then move over to the Garden Room across the hall for a perfectly lavish and botanical wedding reception.
This picturesque property has so much potential for hosting anything from extravagant traditional weddings, to intimate weddings, to elopements and a table for two. Zingerman’s array of offerings for brides makes it easy to find a package that perfectly suits you and your wedding vision. Additionally, they have many perks, including their farm to table catering, that make this venue an exceptional option for any bride.
The owners of Cushing Field House have perfectly curated ever detail of this venue. For instance, their furniture from Anthropologie in the foyer, elegant natural wood cross-back chairs, and modern halo chandeliers throughout the space. They offer both an outdoor ceremony space and indoor reception space that can hold up to 200 guests. Additionally, with your rental you will have access to the property for the whole weekend, making set up before the wedding and clean up afterwards super easy.
