Michigan holds so much charm and countless breathtaking wedding venues. Whether you’re looking for a wedding venue that is
indoor or outdoor,
rustic or romantic,
intimate or extravagant,
there’s something for every bride in the mitten state.
I’m Tylee Shay, a Michigan-based wedding photographer, and I’ve seen some of the best Michigan wedding venues out there. I’m here to help you find your dream location to tie the knot!
The owners of Cushing Field House have perfectly curated ever detail of this venue. For instance, their furniture from Anthropologie in the foyer, elegant natural wood cross-back chairs, and modern halo chandeliers throughout the space. They offer both an outdoor ceremony space and indoor reception space that can hold up to 200 guests. Additionally, with your rental you will have access to the property for the whole weekend, making set up before the wedding and clean up afterwards super easy.
I’ve seen vintage wedding dreams come true at this one of a kind venue. Sundance Studios is known for their incredibly unique building and eccentric vintage vibes. First, you can hold your ceremony in the secret garden courtyard, and then enjoy your reception in a room canopied with handmade chandeliers. I love how everywhere you look at this venue there is beauty and character. Sundance can hold up to 200 guests and they include a surplus of accommodations with your rental.
The gorgeous Tabor Hill estate tent is a massive, white canopy made of glass-enclosed doors that can be added or removed depending on weather. In my opinion, much classier than the typical wedding tent! Additionally, this magical venue is surrounded by 50 acres of vineyards. Last but not least, you and up to 225 guests can enjoy a wine pairing dinner menu with wines harvested from grapes grown right on the property. Tabor Hill is definitely one of the best Michigan wedding venues I have ever seen!
I believe that this venue is the perfect blank slate for any rustic, artful wedding. Journeyman is set in a historic factory known for its distressed hardwood floors, rustic character, and charming atmosphere. For instance, this space can hold anywhere from 25 to 500 guests, making it great for both intimate celebrations and wild parties. Additionally, Journeyman is a full-service venue and makes planning your perfect wedding effortless.
This venue is a renovated 1920’s mansion with a gourmet kitchen, stunning conservatory, and beautiful bridal parlors. I can attest that Venue 3Two has the most romantic wedding day atmosphere! They can hold up to 200 people, and they offer indoor and outdoor ceremony options with receptions in their elaborate conservatory. Above all, Venue 3Two is one of the only venues that functions as a non-profit. I really adore the fact that they donate their proceeds to local organizations that are bettering the community.
Hidden Vineyard Wedding Barn is known for their iconic 150 year old ‘ceremony tree,’ a type of tree that typically has a lifespan of just 40-50 years. My jaw dropped when I first learned this fact!! Couples always exchange a meaningful “I Do” under this unique symbol of hope and fidelity. Afterwards, couples then celebrate their reception in an equally historic barn with plenty of character for 150-200 guests.
I adore this luxury event space. Planterra offers a luxe, full-service wedding experience in an exotic botanical garden setting. You will have the opportunity to work with their award-winning floral design team who will play off of the timeless allure of plant life. Similarly, you also will enjoy their catering team’s specialty cuisine, wine and spirits. Finally, you can celebrate with up to 200 guests in this oasis and dance all night with the stars shining through the glass ceiling.
I love how this rustic property is tucked in the woods. It creates such a cozy, quaint atmosphere for you and 200 guests. Ceremonies take place in serene a forest surrounded by tall evergreen pine trees, and receptions are celebrated in the charming wooden barn. If you are an outdoorsy, nature loving couple, I strongly suggest checking out this gorgeous, earth-toned space.
This wedding venue is a true hidden gem. I wish I could hangout here every weekend! The Glasshouse is a stunning, simplistic greenhouse venue with the most beautiful bridal studio. Similarly, the owners have the most kind hearts! I can promise that you’ll have a wonderful experience working with them. If you’re looking for an intimate, garden style wedding, look no further. The Glasshouse is covered in twinkle lights and designed for for more intimate weddings of up to 70 guests.
I love watching brides walk down rows of vineyards as they head towards their “I Do.” At Brengman Brothers, their ceremony space tucked within the vineyard is definitely the star of the show! However, their open air reception tent is equally as beautiful. This Northern Michigan venue has incredible panoramic views, as well as acres and acres of picturesque vineyard property. A photographers dream!
My favorite thing about Bay Pointe Inn is that they have several different wedding venues to choose from. For example their open-air Lakefront Pavilion, and similarly their quaint Boathouse Villa, are two stunning options for waterfront weddings. In addition, they recently added the Bay Pointe Woods Ballroom, which is a gorgeous bright and airy space nestled away in their wooded property. This new venue has timeless elegance and can host up to 300 guests.
If you and your partner are adventurous, original, and easy-going, then I suggest you check out this spot. The Fields of Michigan is a glamping campground with 20 luxury canvas tents. Their property is surrounded my untouched nature and blueberry fields, and is only minutes away from the shores of Lake Michigan. I love the atmosphere on their property, the kind service, and the tents are unbelievably adorable. Whether you’re planning a large gathering or an intimate elopement, The Fields can host you and your guests for the whole wedding weekend and make an memorable retreat out of your union.
Right in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids is a rooftop greenhouse oasis perfect for both small and large wedding celebrations. I have loved this venue since the day it opened, and I’m always so excited when I get to capture a wedding day here! You can have your intimate or elaborate ceremony in the Greenhouse, and then move over to the Garden Room across the hall for a perfectly lavish and botanical wedding reception.
This picturesque property has so much potential for hosting anything from extravagant traditional weddings, to intimate weddings, to elopements and a table for two. Zingerman’s array of offerings for brides makes it easy to find a package that perfectly suits you and your wedding vision. Additionally, they have many perks, including their farm to table catering, that make this venue an exceptional option for any bride.
For a classic, elegant wedding, The Broadway Avenue located in downtown Grand Rapids is a recently remodeled historic church turned elegant wedding venue. The owners and founders are passionate about making your wedding day dreams come true, as well as providing the perfect platform for you to begin an everlasting marriage. Similarly, as you go from the foyer to the bridal suite to the bathrooms, every detail of this space has beautiful aesthetics.
This brand new wedding venue in Southwest Michigan is not your typical wedding barn. Revival Wedding Barn was just built in 2020 and started taking weddings in spring of 2021. This gorgeous space is all white on both the interior and exterior, making it the perfect canvas for any wedding theme or vision. In addition, the venue is lit with halo chandeliers, a cozy fireplace, and contains acres of lush property to utilize for an outdoor ceremony and wedding photos. In my opinion, Revival is one of the up and coming venues in Michigan.
