Natalie and Norm originally planned a large destination wedding, but they ended up having a Michigan intimate wedding right in their backyard.
As a result of COVID, many of my couples have opted to have intimate weddings. I love how personal and special intimate weddings can be, and this one was no exception.
It’s always a hard choice cutting your guest count down, but it results in more quality time with each guest. Every one of my couples who has opted to have an intimate wedding said they had zero regrets!
They had their wedding at Norm’s childhood home on a lake. They invited just their closest family and friends. Everyone hopped on the pontoon and rode out to a little island in the lake, and this is where they said their vows and tied the knot. It was so unique and intimate, and the party started as soon as the ceremony was over with coolers on drinks and toasts to the newlyweds.
I captured the rest of the day as they boated around on the pontoon, partied on the patio, had dinner and drinks under string lights, and enjoyed the most incredible sunset. Just before the night ended, their families showed them a little surprise.
All of the friends, family members, coworkers and colleagues that weren’t able to make it to their wedding had prepared for them a video montage sending them well wishes on their wedding day. Natalie and Norm and all of their guests gathered and watched the video play out. There were lots of tears and so many laughs, and it was the perfect way to end the day.
I’m so grateful to have been a part of a day this fun, Michigan intimate wedding. Congrats you two!!!
