At the time of this photoshoot, it was the dead of winter in Michigan. It was far too cold to take photos outside! However, Regan and Tyler were recently engaged. So we decided to do at home engagement photos!
After spending just an hour with these two, it became so obvious that they were made for each other! I have known Regan for years now, we danced together in high school. Truthfully, I’ve never seen her so happy and so fully herself than when she’s with Tyler.
I had so much fun capturing their love in this cozy apartment downtown Grand Rapids. I had them pose in the living room, the kitchen, and the iconic bay window seat.
We also had fun in the bedroom! They had a pillow fight with feathers flying everywhere. Then they cuddled for a few more intimate photos on the bed.
The apartment was near a cute bakery, Nantucket Baking Company, so we were able to get treats to celebrate afterwards.
They are so happy with how these photos turned out! And I’m so happy for them to get married later this year!
Winter months can be hard for capturing photos with the cold weather and dreary landscapes. That’s why I always recommend doing at home engagement photos in the winter!
Not only do you get to stay warm and cozy, but also the photos are a touch more personal when they are taken in your own home. At home photo sessions are such a great way to take engagement photos year round and still have meaningful images.
Additionally, it’s so fun to watch couples relax in their natural environment. These at home photo sessions always lead to capturing the most authentic, candid moments.
