This special elopement took place at Lost Dutchman State Park just outside of Phoenix, Arizona. Lost Dutchman is known for having hundreds and hundreds of tall saguaro cacti scattered across a red rock desert floor. Additionally, Lost Dutchman has the amazing Superstition mountain range in the distance. Between the cacti and mountain views, this was the perfect setting for an Arizona elopement.
We had a mild evening with cool temperatures, and we watched the most beautiful sunset fill the landscape with different shades and colors. Desert sunsets are unlike anything else! They are pastel and soft, and they create the perfect lighting for photos.
In the photos below, you’ll see how the light shifts as the sun sets. It started out as golden yellow light, and by the end of the night it was soft shades of pink and blue. It’s so fun to watch this progression in the images, and it’s even better to see it in person!
Between the unique sunsets with picture perfect lighting, and the year-round mild temps, Arizona definitely holds a spot on my list of the top places for elopements.
These two lovebirds were such a fun and playful couple, I don’t think they stopped laughing once the whole night! Abby, the bride, was dressed in a stunning Lillian West gown from Grace Style and Bridal with a lace cape detail that made her look angelic against the setting sun. Additionally, her jeweled bridal crown from Untamed Petals added the perfect boho touch.
It was so fun to watch them interact with each other in one of their all-time favorite places. I’m so honored to have captured these once-in-a-lifetime memories for them.
